Description
Main Features:
This is a high-performance primer, which, as part of an anti-corrosion paint system, provides protection for various moderately corrosive steel surfaces.
Product Description:
BGEZ-60 Epoxy Zinc-Rich Primer is a two-component anti-corrosion paint consisting of epoxy resin, zinc powder, additives, solvents, and more.
Physical Parameters:
- Color: Gray/Iron Red
- Volume Solids: 62±2%
- Standard Dry Film Thickness: Dry Film: 50 microns Wet Film: 81 microns
- Theoretical Coverage Rate: 4.9 m²/kg, 12.4 m²/L (based on 50 microns dry film)
- Actual Coverage Rate: Considering appropriate loss factor
- Flash Point: 26±2°C
Application Instructions:
Surface Preparation:
- All surfaces to be coated should be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Before application, all surfaces should be assessed and treated according to ISO 8504:2000 standards.
- Oil and grease should be removed according to the SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning standard.
- Steel surfaces should be sandblasted to Sa2.5 (ISO 8501-1:2007). If oxidation occurs between sandblasting and painting, the surface should be sandblasted to the specified standard.
- Surface defects exposed during the sandblasting process should be ground, filled, or treated in an appropriate manner.
- A recommended surface roughness is 40-75 microns.
Mixing:
This product is supplied in two containers and should be mixed to form a single unit. Each time, it must be mixed in the specified ratio and used within the recommended pot life.
- (1) Stir the base material (A) with a power mixer.
- (2) Combine all of the curing agent (B) with the base material (A) and thoroughly mix with a power mixer.

Note: The above data is for guidance only. Actual drying and recoat times can vary depending on film thickness, ventilation, humidity, underlying paint, early loading/unloading requirements, and mechanical strength, among other factors.
Tool Cleaning: Clean all tools with BTE Thinner after use.
Safety: Handle this product with care. Pay attention to safety instructions on the packaging label before and during use. Additionally, comply with safety regulations set by relevant national or local authorities. Avoid inhaling solvent vapors and prevent paint contact with the skin and eyes. If paint splashes on the skin, wash immediately with appropriate cleansers, soap, and water. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse with copious amounts of water and seek medical attention. Fire prevention, explosion prevention, and environmental protection measures must be taken. Only apply this product in well-ventilated conditions.
Notes:
- Apply this product in conditions where temperatures are above 10°C and application and curing can proceed as intended. The paint temperature itself must be above 15°C, and the maximum relative humidity during curing should be 80%, ideally in the range of 40-60%. The application surface must be dry, clean, and have a temperature higher than the dew point to avoid condensation. Adequate ventilation should be provided during application in confined spaces or during drying. To prevent moisture condensation, the substrate surface temperature should be at least 3°C above the dew point, and avoid application in rainy, snowy, or foggy weather.
- Mix in the ratio indicated on the packaging label, and use after thorough stirring.
- Use the mixed paint within the specified time frame. Exceeding the usable time frame may result in gelation, rendering it unusable. Adjust the quantity to match the working time, which shortens with higher temperatures.
- Before applying the next coat, clean the surface of the previous coat from oil, condensation, welding spatter, and dust.
- Drying times are affected by temperature, humidity, and film thickness variations.
- Recoating intervals depend on environmental factors. If the maximum recoating interval is exceeded, the surface should be roughened to ensure intercoat adhesion.
- Store the paint in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated indoor warehouse, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Personnel should wear appropriate personal protective equipment as per regulations. The construction site and storage area should be equipped with fire-fighting equipment, and open flames and smoking should be prohibited to prevent fires.
- This product is intended for professional use.
